SPECIAL - Ship's Plaque - 1955-1965
DDR-714 ($19.95) This ship's plaque design was developed in 1955 and was in continuous use until the Summer of 1964 when USS WILLIAM R. RUSH (DDR-714) entered the New York Navy Yard, Brooklyn, New York for conversion from Radar Picket destroyer, (DDR), back to an ASW destroyer, (DD).

SPECIAL - Ship's Plaque - 1965-1978
DD-714/FRAM I ($15.95) This ship's plaque design originated while USS WILLIAM R. RUSH (DD-714) was at the New York Navy Yard, Brooklyn, New York. The ship was in the yard from late June 1964 through the Spring of 1965 for a change in configuration from (Radar Picket) (DDR) to ASW destroyer (DD). This design was used from 1965 until the ship was sold to the Republic of Korea in July 1978.
Development and Purchase Notes: The original brass plaque for DDR-714 was furnished by Lt. Bernie Stortecky, 1955-1958.
The Original brass plaque for DD-714 was furnished by ET1 Al Skornicka, 1970-1973.
The master moldings were generated by GMGC Eric Young, 1969-1972. An acrylic resin duplicate has been painstakingly molded from the master mold and delivered to Jim Kelly, 1970-1973 Ship's Historian, in North Carolina. Jim then paints the duplicate, stains the wood base and applies two coats of Tung Oil finish. He then paints the back of the plaque, applies a catch for the nail, and affixes a label with a description of the origin of the plaque. Price quoted includes S&H.
Please allow two (2) weeks for delivery, depending on mail service.
