Bernie Caprera (USS RUSH Association President) received a phone call on Thursday, April 13, 2006, from Carolyn Monch which, sadly, informed him that her husband, Edwin L. Monch, had passed away. Edwin was stationed in RUSH from 1952 through 1955 and was a DDR-714 Plank Owner.


The following obituary was printed in Idaho Press Tribune which serves the Nampa, Idaho area, on April 16, 2006:

MONCH, EDWIN LEONARD

Edwin Leonard Monch, 72, of Nampa, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, of natural causes. A visitation will be held on Monday, April 17, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Conner Family Funeral Chapel, 2685 Caldwell Boulevard, Nampa, ID, 461-7019. A funeral will be on Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at the above address at 11 a.m. followed with burial at 1 p.m. at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetary in Boise.
