In his email, Fred Strachan remembered John with these kind words:

"I met John eight years ago at our Reunion. He was a quiet and gentle man, with a great sense of humor. I enjoyed listening to his and Bill Mason's sea stories.

John became a member of our golfing foursome every Reunion. John along with Lou Cappella, my wife, Elaine, and myself made-up the foursome. We have made it a point to play a round of golf, for the last four reunions.

John will truly be missed. He loved life, as much as he loved golf. We have all lost a great person.

With sincerity, John and Elaine Strachan"
