Fred Hoffman, BT3 (1953)

Bill Mason, fellow shipmate, brother Boiler Technician and, good friend, notified us by email that Fred Hoffman had passed on April 5, 2008. Fred and Bill, among many others, served in USS William R Rush (DDR-714) from 1952 through 1959. Fred, like Bill, was a DDR-714 "PLANK OWNER." The photograph above was taken from the 1953 William R. Rush (DDR 714) Cruise Book.

Fred W. Hoffman, of the Dormont area, died Saturday, April 5, 2008. Beloved husband of Dorothy "Dot" Hoffman. Beloved brother of Bill (Pat), Lou (Candy) and Jim (the late Erlene) Hoffman; Joan (Mike) Zoumadakis, of Salt Lake City, and the late Antoinette (Regis) Conley. Also survived by other family members, nieces, nephews and friends. Friends welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at BEINHAUERS, 2630 W. Liberty Ave., Dormont, where services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
