Frederick W. Liedtke (1953)
Fred Strachan notified us by email that Frederick W. Liedtke had passed. Frederick Liedtke, among many others, served in USS William R Rush (DDR-714) from 1952 through 1954. Frederick was a DDR-714 "PLANK OWNER." The photograph above was taken from the 1953 William R. Rush (DDR 714) Cruise Book. Frederick, a member since 1994, attended our reunions in New London, CT, and in Branson, MO.

Frederick W. Liedtke, age 77, of Rogers City passed away December 21, 2007 at Golden Beach Manor.
Born May 3, 1930, in Rogers City, MI, he was the son of the late Fred and Helen Beebe Liedtke.
Frederick served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of the USS William R. Rush association. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge #3000, the Rogers City V.F.W. Post 607, and the American Legion. Mr. Liedtke retired from Calcite as an elextrician after 38 years of service.
In addition to his wife, Lorene, he is survived by his son Dave, sisters, Leona Winchester of Charlevoix, Marie West of North Carolina, and Lorene Mikolic of Tennessee; one brother, Paul Liedtke of Rogers City; and five granddaughters, Katie, Leah, Carlie, Jullian, and Vada. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence on December 18, 1978.
Arrangements are in care of the Beck Funeral Home, Rogers City. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
