HMC Alfred W. Henke (1956)

Chief Petty Officer Alfred W. Henke served onboard the USS WILLIAM R. RUSH (DDR-714) from 1954 through 1957. He joined the US Navy as a Pharmacist's Mate. That rating was converted to Hospital Corpsman in 1948. He was born in 1922 in Dearborn, Michigan. Census records show he was the son of immigrant parents and was the first member of his family born in the United States.

HMC Henke joined the Rush Association in 1994 and was a member in good standing when he passed. He had been living at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport. But after Hurricane Katrina, he transferred to the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Washington, District of Columbia.
